All students are learning that plants and animals have life cycles. They are building different animals using our Life Cycles and Organisms K'nex kits to understand the similarities and differences between them.
On Saturday, October 15th, we participated in our very first TSA STEM Club Competition! The event took place at Palm View K-8 Elementary. It was a huge turnout, with over 90 teams that competed. Our three Ballard Teams worked extremely hard at building their catapults. As all competitions, it was a real challenge to make the pom-poms reach the farthest distance. I'm very proud of how well our teams worked together and very excited that they did their very best! We're looking forward to our next competition which will involve VEX IQ Robots.
Stay tuned as we build our vEX IQ robots and learn how to play the new game called Slapshot! In the VEX IQ Competition teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play with other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. VEX Robotics hosts the world’s largest robotics competition for students all over the world to compete against one another using a robot of their own design. In the VEX IQ Competition, classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. In the meantime...here are some exciting Team moments from today's Catapult Competition! |
