STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. STEM learning teaches students about the power of technology and innovation. By exposing students to STEM, we are giving them the opportunities to learn new technologies and explore activities that will enable them to take risks, build confidence, and learn that failure is part of a process that ultimately leads to success!
In STEM, students will engage in challenges that encourage critical thinking skills by planning and solving real world problems. According to the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, STEM occupations are growing at 17% while others are growing at 9.8%. STEM degree holders have a higher income! STEM students will be encouraged to explore more than one solution as they investigate the world around them. The hands-on activities will foster this curiosity and create life long skills for understanding Science. |
